Rider's Institute for Economic and Community Impact (RIECI)
Student workers perform various clerical and related tasks for the Director of Student and Client Services of Student and Client Services, Institute for Economic and Community Impact (RIECI). Student workers at level I will learn the dynamics of RIECI. They will be engaged in the planning process, manage information, and contribute to the work of the RIECI. They should always be mindful that academics at Rider University are their number one priority.
Daily routine requirements:
1. Arrive for scheduled work hours promptly, following the guidelines regarding the maximum number of hours allowed.
2. Let the Director of Student and Client Services, Institute for Economic and Community Impact know if going to be late or absent.
3. Adhere to a code of confidentiality related to constituents or other important information.
4. Maintain work area and equipment and keep them in a clean and orderly condition.
5. Keep sign-in sheet current and correlated to payroll time sheet.
Responsibilities
Brokering, Connecting and Linking – Students will work in teams to support the project-based Client Services work assigned to them as part of this experiential learning model.
Information Management - Students should have a basic understanding of computing systems and applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and have familiarity with Google sheets and documents. Responsibilities include copying, filing, sorting, compiling various hardcopy packets of information or data, word processing and/or data entry into spreadsheets as required.
Customer Service, Promoting and Performing Outreach - Students should have a basic understanding of customer service strategies and principles and apply them to their work. This includes tasks such as representing RIECI at tabling events, engaging with parents and potential students during Open House, Admitted Student Days and Orientations, answering telephones and questions from visitors, and articulating knowledge of RIECI to others on campus.
Delivery of Services and Client Interface - Students should be able to work in teams to execute deliverable client services and interface with clients, staff, and mentors in the completion of services. Students should be able to implement, plan and market RIECI events. This includes event planning, social media to marketing, assisting with programs and events, and driving Client Services.
Management and Administration - Students should be available to attend regular staff meetings as well as meetings of functional groups as assigned by the Director of Student and Client Services.

Dependability/Efficiency - Student workers should continually strive to complete projects or tasks in a timely manner on or before scheduled deadlines with minimal errors.
Interpersonal Skills - Student workers should demonstrate the ability to work effectively with others, employing self-regulation to manage interactions with other students, staff, clients, and community.
Respect and Valuing Diversity - Student workers should possess the ability to recognize, understand, accept and appreciate the value of workplace diversity and cultural differences. Further, they should respect the practices, values and perspectives of other individuals and groups.
Ethics -Student workers should demonstrate the ability to adhere to an appropriate and effective set of core values and beliefs and to act in line with those values.
Quality Assurance/Attention to Detail - Student workers should accomplish tasks through concern for all aspects of the job, no matter how small. They should accurately check processes and tasks. Moreover, they should remember to follow-up or follow-through to the completion of said processes and tasks.
